Opening Times

Explorer Dome is one of the UK's leading science outreach organisations. We come to you with a range of exciting, interactive science shows that complement and enhance all Key Stages of the National Curriculum. Hands-on demonstrations and stunning visuals, combined with knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional presenters bring science alive for over 50,000 children every year. Explorer Dome's flagship shows take place inside our portable planetarium - choose from Space, Light, Sound, Forces, Environment, Body and Water. 'The Life of Water' is our brand new full-dome show for 2016/17 developed with the Royal Society of Chemistry - the first of its kind, it’s an inspirational experience combining full-dome digital animation with our popular hands-on approach, audience participation and interactive demonstrations. Science shows which don't use the dome and can take place in any suitable room involve exciting chemistry - freezing fog, fire, flashes and BANGS! We also offer rocket workshops - design, build and launch your very own rockets with expert guidance; the sky is NOT the limit! Our shows are pitched appropriately for specific groups, including Foundation Stage, family groups, adult events and students with special educational needs. "I'd recommend this to any school" - "Feedback has been fantastic; your presenters put across each and every session with energy, enthusiasm and great knowledge" - "Well presented, great resources, engaging, educational and FUN!" - "The whole day was brilliant - completely organised for us and excellent value for money" - "Incredibly successful, to the point where some students still say it was the best day they ever had at school"
