The Planetarium at Thinktank opened in December 2005, becoming the first purpose built digital planetarium in the UK, running Evans and Sutherland’s Digistar 3. The 10-metre dome seats 70, is wheelchair accessible, and houses an analogue hearing loop. Thinktank also possesses The Event Suite – a versatile space which can be transformed into three areas for exhibition stands, lecture style seating and a breakout networking space.
Thinktank is one of the nine venues which form Birmingham Museums which gives a glimpse into Birmingham’s past and showcases a world class museum collection.

Thinktank is a 10-15 min walk from Birmingham New Street Station – the main railway hub giving links to Birmingham International Airport, London, Scotland and the South West. The nearest airport is Birmingham International, about 10 miles, but linked to the train network. and 20min walk from Birmingham Coach Station.
